Traditional sterilization methods include ultraviolet sterilization, pharmaceutical sterilization and heating sterilization. But these methods also have their own defects, such as ultraviolet sterilization, the device is more convenient to set up and use, but because of limited penetration capacity, the place where ultraviolet radiation is less than, the sterilization effect is not good, and the lamp life is short, frequent replacement, high operating cost; Chemical reagent sterilization, such as formaldehyde fumigation, troublesome operation, long fumigation time, secondary pollutants, there is a certain harm to the body, fumigation residue attached to the wall and equipment surface of the clean room, need to be cleaned, sometimes improper treatment, in a few days after sterilization, the number of suspended particles will increase; Heating sterilization includes dry heat and wet heat, its disadvantages are high temperature, high energy consumption, some items such as some raw materials, instruments and meters, plastic products, etc., should not be used.

In recent years, ozone sterilization in pharmaceutical products, biological drugs manufacturing process has been increasingly widely used, ozone is a broad-spectrum fungicide, can kill bacteria and spores, viruses, fungi, etc., can destroy endotoxin. Ozone kills bacteria faster than chlorine in water.
